HOW IT WORKS

The Path to
Empowerment & Growth

Tandika Women’s
Business Cooperative

The Tandika Women's Business Cooperative is at the core of our efforts. We facilitate the creation and sustainability of small businesses, providing a network of support where women can learn, grow, and mentor each other. Each new member receives personalized guidance from an established mentor, ensuring they acquire the skills needed for success.

Tandika Business Loans

We provide women with interest-free loans, enabling them to kickstart their businesses. The loans are repaid over a maximum period of 6 months, with installments circulating back into the fund to assist more women in their entrepreneurial journey.

Tandika Community Health Clinic

Our Tandika Health Clinic will be housed in the Community Center until we are able to build a new structure it. The clinic will focus on basic health care for women and children. This includes pre and post-natal checkups for expecting mothers.

Tandika Community Center

Our community center will serve as a focal point for our operations. It will not simply be a meeting place; but also a hub for learning, progress monitoring, decision-making, and planning. We will host skill-development sessions and income-generating projects like farming and milk production, among others. It will also host our Tandika Health Clinic until we are able to build a permanent structure for the clinic.

Phase 4

Status: Fundraising

Start the Tandika Health Clinic

*We are currently fundraising to purchase the supplies needed for our clinic. It will be housed in the Tandika Community Center.

Phase 5

Status: Future Planning

Begin training programs at the community center & start the sustainability projects.

Phase 6

Status: Future Planning

Build the Tandika Health Clinic.

🔄 Sustainability

Once the community center is complete, Tandika will be working on creating sustainability projects to help cover monthly expenses such as utilities, maintenance, and worker salaries.

We’ll start with three projects: Farming, milk production, and plastic collection for recycling. All three of these projects will be housed on the land and will generate income to cover local expenses.

🏥 Future Expansion

Our vision expands beyond current operations. We hope to further serve the community by establishing a small clinic to provide essential medical care.

Donations contribute to a self-sustainable, prosperous future for the women of Mbiko and the surrounding communities.

⚖️ Governance

All properties, including land and buildings used by the foundation, are solely owned by the Tandika Revitalization Foundation and governed by the Ugandan Board of Directors. This is to ensure the primary focus remains on the community development rather than individual gains.

🌱 Funding

Our operations are sustained through contributions from cooperative members and generous donations from well-wishers across the globe. Tandika Revitalization Fund is a 501(c)(3) in the United States whose sole purpose is fundraising for Tandika in Uganda. These funds will be used for building projects, supplies for training, and seed money for sustainability projects.
